quick hit – Kurt from BMXUNION

Here’s a new feature I worked up. My thoughts are to ask a few questions to a person I see doing well for, or in the bmx community. The first installment brings us to Kurt Hohberger from BMX UNION. Kurt has worked at sites such as THECOMEUP and DIG. Recently he’s turned his focus on his original site, THE UNION.
Walk with me.

bloggin
1- Let’s hear your name and favorite aspect of freestlye.
-Kurt Hohberger and my favorite aspect of freestyle is anything creative, unique and looks good.

2- Where do you live and what is the best (or worst) part of this?
I live in Minnesota. The best and worst would be the weather. You get all the seasons which is sweet… except when it’s humid as shit and 105 degrees or -20 and you’re frozen.

3- What (person/ team/blogger/TM) should we keep an eye out for this year?
I’ve been questioning this one for a little while now. I’d say Reed Stark for the person. The kid has seriously been killing it. Really cool to see him finally getting the attention he deserves.
Team wise, it’s a huge toss up since there’s definitely been a lot of changes this year sponsor wise for a lot of riders. I’ll default and say Team YouzaNastyGirl.
I’d be real disappointed in myself if I said myself, so I’ll say Dave Paterson from THE MERGED… Good things coming.
Team manager… damn. I’ve got like 10 names popping into my head right now, but let’s go with Matt Coplon. That’s one guy who never disappoints.

4- Ask yourself (or me) a question!
What’s 5 things you expect the crew to accomplish between Milwaukee and Toronto this year?
— I plead the 5th for fear of incriminating the crew. What’s the statute of limitations on an impending felony? -jeffd

5- Go through a typical day for yourself in one word increments.
Wake. Blog. Coffee. Eat. Blog. Drive. Part-Time-Job. Drive. Blog. Eat. Ride. Chill. Sleep. Repeat.

Thanks for reading, feel free to hit me up on THE UNION or look for me around Twitter @kurthohburger.

bmx is awesome

Last weekend Kurt from BMX UNION threw his second annual Bluff Valley Jam.
The place was packed and the list of maneuvers that occurred would compete with ‘large’ contests happening right now.
BMX is booming.

We got a quick edit for your viewing pleasure of a few stunts Reed Stark stomped.

Now watch this flop from inline Dan. To his credit he got really close on a couple, then this happened..

head over to THE UNION for the full coverage from the day.

Racine Jam 2011

This years Racine jam had an 80′s theme which made things a little more interesting. The jam happened a few months ago, back in August. This is not the halloween contest which will also be coming out (sometime).
